Missing Dundee woman Jennifer Huston bought sleeping pills before disappearance
DUNDEE, OR
Missing Dundee woman Jennifer Huston stopped at Rite Aid in Newberg and purchased Gatorade, trail mix and over-the-counter sleeping pills before she disappeared. Police released new details about the search for the married mother of two young boys on Tuesday.
Detectives said her husband, Kallen Huston, has been cooperative through the whole process, including multiple interviews, and he passed a polygraph test.
Investigators previously released a timeline of Jennifer Huston's last known activities that included leaving her home last Thursday evening at 5:45 p.m., going to the Oregon First Community Credit Union in Newberg about three miles away and then to the nearby Circle K gas station on Portland Road.
Police said she spent less than $40 at the gas station, so they believe she was topping off the tank. She withdrew less than $100 from the credit union ATM.
Now, police said she also stopped at Rite Aid. Detectives released a surveillance image from that store of Jennifer Huston in hopes it will lead to additional clues in this case.
Officers said the amount of sleeping pills she purchased would not be enough for a lethal dose.
Police said the expected travel range of Jennifer Huston's SUV on a full tank of gasoline would be 300 to 350 miles.
Detectives said she had several favorite places she would visit with her family within that range of Newberg, but did not elaborate on specific locations. At a news conference Tuesday evening police said there have been no confirmed sightings of Jennifer Huston since the night she disappeared.
Police have received reported sightings in California, Washington and as far away as Michigan.
According to phone records, Jennifer Huston received a text message from her mother at 6:22 p.m. Thursday, but the phone stopped sending signals at 6:25 p.m.
Police said there remains no known criminal link in this investigation. Because police can't prove she is endangered, they said it's been difficult obtaining subpoenas related to the investigation.
Her husband told detectives that when he got home on Thursday, she seemed a little stressed out and needed time away from the house. He described that as not being unusual.
Police said if she is safe and doesn't want to come home right now, they still hope she will reach out to let someone know.
Jennifer Huston is 5'7" with blonde hair and blue eyes. She was last seen wearing black and pink Nike shoes and black yoga pants. She drives a dark green 1999 Lexus LX 470 with Oregon plates WXH 011.
The SUV had a U-shaped crack in the windshield on the passenger side and a Yakima ski rack mounted on the roof.

Tuscaloosa police Sgt. Brent Blankley says officers have been searching for a missing teen. Police say Destiny Schaetzle, 13, was reported missing on Sunday, July 27. She was last seen at her home in the 3700 block of 64th Street Northeast, in the North Park subdivision.

It is believed that Schaetzle ran away but police are concerned after no contact from in her four days.
"I want people to know we love her. We really want her home. We all miss her a lot," her mother, Lindsay Schaetzle, said.
Lindsay Schaetzle said the family was sitting down to dinner on Sunday when they realized Schaetzle wasn't home.
"We noticed Desti was missing when we went to get everyone for dinner. She was nowhere in the house. And after searching the house we figured she had gone out the back door and so we searched the yard and searched the neighborhood and talked to everybody and nobody's seen her," Lindsay Schaetzle said.
Schaetzle believed her daughter may have been hiding in the wooded around the neighborhood. Police used helicopters to search the wooded area, but have not yet found her.
She's described as looking younger than her age of 13, with sandy blonde, shoulder-length hair and brown eyes.
Her family says she was last seen wearing a light blue shirt with a flag on it, Umbros and crimson and white polka dot flipflops with her hair in a pony tail.
On Tuesday afternoon, several Tuscaloosa officers searched by air and on foot in the area of the neighborhood. Officers also went door-to-door talking to neighbors.
Police plan to conduct a large scale search on Wednesday, which will begin in the morning.
"Please pray for her. We miss her very badly. It's been way too long," her mom said.
Family friends are posting updates on the Facebook Page "Prayers for Desti."
If you have any information on Schaetzle's location please contact the Tuscaloosa Police Department at 205-349-2121.

Police said the father denied knowing where his son went.
After Hotsenpiller missed a hearing in August, Greene County Family Division Commissioner Sue Chrisman awarded full temporary legal custody to Breci.
Chrisman also ordered Hotsenpiller to return Beck.
'You can't just hold a little boy hostage basically. Because he deserves to have his mom and his dad,' said Breci.
Someone knows where Beck is. Bring Beck Home!

A Dakota County grand jury has upgraded the murder charges against two people accused of killing missing University of Minnesota student Anarae Schunk last September. Shavelle Oscar Chavez-Nelson, 32, and Ashley Marie Conrade, 24, were each indicted Tuesday on first-degree murder charges, the St. Paul Pioneer Press reports.

Charges upgraded to 1st degree murder in death of missing student Anarae Schunk
A Dakota County grand jury has upgraded the murder charges against two peopleaccused of killing missing University of Minnesota student Anarae Schunk last September.
Shavelle Oscar Chavez-Nelson, 32, and Ashley Marie Conrade, 24, were each indicted Tuesday on first-degree murder charges, the St. Paul Pioneer Press reports.
The new charges supersede the previous charges of second-degree murder, which were filed against them about a month ago. The first-degree charges mean they’re accused of planning the crime in advance, and face a mandatory sentence of life in prison if convicted, according to the Pioneer Press.
Schunk, 20, of Rosemount, went missing on Sept. 22 after being with Chavez-Nelson and Conrade at a Burnsville bar that night. She had told family and friends that she planned to meet with Chavez-Nelson, who was her ex-boyfriend, to try to recover thousands of dollars she had loaned him.
Schunk was with him and Conrade at the bar when Chavez-Nelson fatally shot a man in the parking lot, according to police. After the shooting, the three went to Conrade’s town home in Rosemount, where authorities say the two suspects stabbed Schunk 22 times with a kitchen knife.
Her unclothed body was dumped by the side of a rural road in Rice County in an attempt to cover up the crime. She was not found until eight days after her death. The charges said her body showed signs of someone having tried to light it on fire and that Schunk’s blood was found on numerous items at Conrade’s home, including a saw, a plastic bin, and clothing.
Chavez-Nelson is incarcerated at the state prison in Stillwater on an unrelated burglary charge. He also faces first- and second-degree murder charges for killing Palagor (Paul) Jobi, 23, in the parking lot of the bar that night, the Star Tribune reports.
Chavez-Nelson will make his first appearance on the new indictment on Thursday. Conrade is in jail on $2 million bail. Her first appearance is Wednesday.
