Her Aunt ask if we would share her story!!
For nearly three decades a 15-month-old girl's death was an agonizing mystery for her family. Now it's murder.
A Salt Lake City man, one who previously admitted to biting the toddler's arm and face on the day she died, has been arrested in the toddler's 1988 murder
Louis Mark Duran, 53, was taken into custody Thursday after a fresh look into the cold case investigation
The little girl, who's only described by her initials V.N., was found dead in Duran's home on Oct. 3, 1988 after sustaining "multiple blunt force trauma," the latest investigation revealed.
Salt Lake County District Attorney Sim Gill told
that Duran was left to watch the little girl at his apartment but when her mother returned later that evening with Duran's sister, the child was blue and not breathing.
Duran reportedly claimed that he didn't know what happened to her but did repeatedly apologize.
A recent review of the initial autopsy determined that she had been struck on the back of her head.
Duran is being held on $1 million cash-only bail for second-degree murder, a first-degree felony which faces him with up to life behind bars.
