Search and rescue crews are still looking for Laurence Howard, 79, Nichol in Monongalia County.

Monongalia County's Office of Emergency Management said the National Guard joined the search of more than 40 volunteers Wednesday.

Search teams have been working since 4 p.m. Tuesday.

Officials said because Nichol suffers from Alzheimer's, crews are taking a different approach in the search.

"There is a search method that people use," said Mike Wolfe, of MECCA. "A lot of times they will travel in a straight line or one certain direction, something they're more familiar with. And that's what we've been concentrating on today."

Howard was last seen around 1:30 p.m. Tuesday in Morgantown.

If you have any information, contact state police at 304-624-7573.
