Amber Alert changes in Missouri announced...It should not take the loss of a child's life before we as adults take steps to fix things that are wrong or to make laws meant to save the lives of children better. Shouldn't it just be something we strive to do? Isn't it just common sense that Amber Alert should go out right away? Sure you may have a few false alarms in the mix or some misinformation but wouldn't that be better than the loss of a child? After all those things are fixable. You can't fix a deceased child. frown emoticon
Murder of Hailey Owens of Springfield changes AMBER Alerts in Missouri...
The murder of a Springfield, Mo., girl is changing Missouri's AMBER Alerts.
One year ago, police say Craig Wood kidnapped and murdered 10-year-old Hailey Owens , but the state patrol did not send out an AMBER Alert until two hours after her disappearance.
Since then, the patrol has streamlined the AMBER Alert process.
Information is shared everywhere from billboards to Facebook at the same time.
State lawmakers are also debating a bill to speed up when an AMBER Alert is issued.
Wood is accused of grabbing Owens when she was walking home from her best friends home in Springfield last year. Court records indicate her body was found in Wood's basement.
