CHALLIS, Idaho -- It's been exactly 20 years since Stephanie Crane disappeared, but her hometown of Challis has not forgotten.
Crane was nine years old, and walking toward Challis High School, when she disappeared on October 11, 1993. The Custer County Sheriff's Office says she was leaving the bowling alley and when she didn't come home, her mother reported her missing. An extensive search turned up nothing, and she has not been seen since.
The picture on the left shows what she looked like then, and the picture on the right is an age-enhanced photo, depicting what she might look like today.
Custer County officials say they have recently acted on a tip that lead them to search the Idaho back country, however that search was also unsuccessful.
On the 20-year anniversary the sheriff's office would like to remind the public that this is still an open and active case.

Will you please share? One tip...that's all it takes. Thank You! Joshua got into an argument with his mother and departed from his Centralia IL home on October 12, 1991. He climbed out his bedroom window and left with another boy. He has never been heard from again. According to one account, he was later sighted with another teenage boy, leaving a shopping center in a blue Ford Maverick with a friend, Terry Martin, and Martin's girlfriend. Martin and the other boy returned hours later. The car was mud-splattered and Joshua wasn't with him. He has never been heard from again. His mother reported him missing on November 12th. Martin is a suspect in Joshua's disappearance. A witness, Tonya L. Collins, who was in her teens in 1991, told authorities that she witnessed Joshua's torture and murder in a Satanic-type ritual in the Devil's Playground area of Centralia. She passed a polygraph about the case in 1996, but failed a second one in 2008. In 2008, she was placed under hypnosis and lead authorities to Joshua's supposed burial site in the Devil's Playground, but a dig of the area produced nothing. Collins named Martin as Joshua's killer. It was she who claims she saw them leave the shopping center together. Martin has an extensive criminal record. In 1993, he beat a man with a baseball bat and almost killed him. In 1999, he was sentenced to 22 years in prison for the rape of a 6-year-old girl. He was paroled in 2010, but allegedly failed to register as a sex offender and was rearrested. That case is pending. Joshua and Martin burglarized a small grocery store together. Joshua later testified against Martin in that case, and Martin was sentenced to four years in prison. Joshua was also allegedly seeing Martin's girlfriend in secret, something Martin denies. Martin admits that he was friends with Collins and Joshua in 1991, but says he didn't harm Joshua and doesn't know what happened to him. He stated Joshua often talked about running away, possibly to Kentucky, which was where his father lived. Authorities believe Joshua is probably deceased, but they're unsure as to what happened to him. His case remains unsolved. The gut-wrenching feeling of not knowing is tormenting Sarah Kiley and Ed Wood. Their son, Braxton Wood, has been missing since Monday, and they haven't slept since.
"It's tough. It's kind of crazy. You just can't imagine not having your child in your house," said Ed Wood.
"Or imagining life without your child," said Sarah Kiley.
Early Monday morning, their 14-year old son took the family's 2005 black Ford Explorer from their Mt. Pleasant home. It's believed he drove north to pick up his 13-year-old girlfriend, Jayden Thomas, who lives in Clare. Now, the two are on the run.
"Whatever the reason is that they left, we don't care anymore. Whatever it is, we can work through it. We just want them to come home," said Ed Wood.
Family and police have talked to friends. It's believed the two could be on their way to Florida, but police say that'll be tough because as they've investigated they believe the two might have a combined $82 in a vehicle that had less than a half a tank of gas Monday morning.
So why hasn't an Amber Alert hasn't been issued for these two teens? The way it works, an Amber Alert can only be issued if police believe the children are in imminent danger.
"We've been blowing everything up we can, trying to get their names out there so somebody can identify them, so we can get a hit to where they're potentially at," said Sgt. Tim Swanson with the Isabella County Sheriff's Office.
Right now, law enforcement is clueless about where the teens could be. The situation isn't made any easier because the teens have turned their cell phones off.
"It's time for them to just come home and get it over with. Face the music, get on with their life, go back to school next week, carry on with their life. Let their parents stop worrying about them," said Swanson.
That is all their parents want. They want this nightmare to be over.
"You have no idea how much people love you, miss you and just want to know that you're safe," said Kiley.
The Ford Explorer the teens are in has county and state park passes in the front windshield. Police reminded the public to keep an eye out over Labor Day weekend. The license plate on the Explorer is BCQ 4820.

Two #Cypress, #Texas girls, KACIE WATSON, 14, and LIANA ANDREWS , 16, #MISSING after driving to meet man they met online; car found abandoned in Downtown San Antonio, #TX near the courthouse with some of their personal belongings still in it: Two Cypress families are frantically searching from #Houston to #SanAntonio for their missing teen daughters.

Liana Andrews, 16, and Kacie Watson, 14, are church friends and vanished on Friday night. Liana's grandmother was watching the pair and went to bed.

"Liana and Kacie were both in Liana's bedroom on the phone giggling,' said Lana Turner, Liana's mother. "That's the last time anyone saw them.”

Liana sent a message to her grandmother that said they would be back home on Saturday around 1:30 p.m. The pair never showed up.

Andrews only has a learner's permit, but when she and her 14-year old friend vanished, so did her mother's car, a 2001 Gold Chrysler Sebring.

It was found days later abandoned in Downtown San Antonio near the courthouse with some of their personal belongings still in it.

"No girls would leave their makeup and clothes," said Ernestine Lomaz, Watson’s grandmother. "Not those two. They wouldn't leave their makeup and clothes in a car."

The families believed the girls went to see a man they met online so police consider them runaways. The families want it reclassified as a missing persons case.

"This is not a runaway case,' Turner said. "My daughter and her friend are in danger. I know that and I want them found."

Police in Spokane, Washington are searching for two young suspects after a World War II veteran was severely beaten in a parking lot Wednesday and later died from his injuries.

The Spokane Police Department says in a press release officers responded to reports of an assault Wednesday and found the victim in his car with serious head injuries. He later died Thursday in the hospital.

Authorities on Thursday released surveillance photos of the two suspects, who they describe as African-American males between the ages of 16 and 19.

Friends identified the victim as 88-year-old Delbert Belton, and say he was sitting outside a lodge for the Fraternal Order of the Eagles when he was attacked.

KXLY-TV reports that Belton served in the Army during World War II and was shot in the leg during the Battle for Okinawa.

"He was a tough old bird, I'll tell you that," Ted Denison, Belton's friend for 23 years told the Spokesman-Review.

The station says he went on to work for Kaiser Aluminum for 30 years. Friends say he was known as “Shorty,” and enjoyed playing pool and working on cars. His wife passed away several years ago.

"He was just such a nice person for God's sake. I don't think Shorty had a mean bone in his body," friend Betty told KXLY-TV.com.

"It does appear random. He was in the parking lot, it appears he was assaulted in the parking lot and there was no indication that he would have known these people prior to the assault," Spokane Police Major Crimes Detective Lieutenant Mark Griffiths told the station.

Denison told KXLY-TV he cannot comprehend how someone could have carried out such an attack. "I thought of him more as a dad than I did a friend really," Denison said.

"He was always there for me when I needed him," Denison said. "We'd joke back and forth. We were always having fun, some sort of fun."

"I don't understand how somebody could do this. I really don't," he told the station.

"Anybody that didn't get to know him missed out on a wonderful angel in their life," Lillian Duncan told the Spokesman-Review.

The Spokane Police Department is asking anyone with information to call their hotline at 456-2233.
