Holly Amber Elischer - Holly Womack 30 - MISSING - 03October2012 - Gary Indiana

Holly Womack vanished weeks ago after police dropped her off at a shelter.
CBS 2’s Pamela Jones reports on her family’s frantic search.
“The longer it takes, the reality is, she might not be OK,” the missing woman’s mother, Darlene Strickland, says tearfully. She describes her worst fears about what may have happened to her daughter Womack, 30.
Womack disappeared three weeks ago in Gary and hasn’t been seen since.
Her mom says the trouble began with an argument at Womack’s ex-husband’s trailer Oct. 2.
“She left his premises that night, but I’m thinking she would have called him back,” Strickland says.
From her home in Georgia, Womack’s mom called Gary police, who picked the woman up.
Police dropped her off at a shelter at 4th and Connecticut.
But Womack’s family says they turned her away.
The mother with untreated bi-polar disorder started to wander.
“If she don’t take her medicine, she’s just really spaced out and not with the program,” Strickland says.
She’d walked a couple of blocks to the Steel City Buffet. Then she told her mom on a cell phone call that she’d spent a night outdoors at a gazebo — the only one downtown.
Her mother called police but they couldn’t find her.
With no leads, Gary police asked CBS 2 for help in the case.
Gary Police Lt. Lawrence Wright holds out hope Womack will be found alive. He says her last known whereabouts were near the bus station.
“I actually hope that at some point, in some act of desperation, she actually got on a bus and went someplace,” he says.
Womack’s ex-husband tells CBS 2 there was no trouble at the trailer. He believes Womack could have boarded a bus to meet a love interest in Texas. He said police confiscated her computer to check out that theory.
Womack is from Georgia and had moved to Gary in Jul

[SHARE] Searchers Back Out Looking For Missing Scotland Neck (North Carolina) Teen

Searchers have spent the past two days looking for possible remains of a Scotland Neck teen who has been missing for more than 2 1/2-years.

Scotland Neck Police Chief Joe Williams tells WITN they've been searching the area around Cemetery Road since Wednesday for Jalesa Reynolds. They're being asisted by the Cent
er for Missing and Exploited Children.

Chief Williams says the center brought in special dogs to be able to search for remains, as well as a special response team from Johnston County to map the area.

Crews will be back out tomorrow and plan to drain a small pond on Salvia Lane which is off of Cemetery Road.

Reynolds, who was 18-years-old when she disappeared in February 2010, was last seen at the library in Scotland Neck, and police say she later logged onto her Facebook account at the home of a registered sex offender on Cemetery Road. Police seized a computer from that individuals home, but have never charged the man in connection with the girl's disappearance.

Missing From Palmyra, Pennsylvania Since July 29, 2012 Please Help Find Kortne Stouffer $34,000 Reward

About once a week, Scott Stouffer gets a call. On the other end of the receiver is someone filling him in on the latest rumor regarding his 21-year-old daughter, Kortne. Those rumors, however, have been wearing on him and his family.

"(We're) no closer to having our daughter back," Stouffer sa
id.

All the while an investigation has been ongoing. There has been a search involving local and state officials, who have also pulled in FBI resources.

So where are investigators with the case now? Stouffer said they're back to square one.

Admittedly, going back to the beginning is a standard tactic in law enforcement. It's something that has Stouffer hopeful.

"Maybe going back and going through the whole investigation again will bring back a piece of information that can help authorities get to her," Stouffer said.

But still, her father can't help but be critical of the investigation. Stouffer wishes authorities acted faster, nearly three months ago.

Kortne Stouffer was last seen at her Palmyra apartment July 29, after going out with friends in Harrisburg.

"No disrespect to any of the authorities, I don't believe everything that should have been done initially was done as quickly as it should have been done," Stouffer said.

Stouffer's other criticism surrounds surveillance tapes. He and the family's attorney, Karl Rominger, were told an auto business near Kortne's apartment could have caught something critical on camera. However, the video from the night of her disappearance was recorded over. That's because, Stouffer said, authorities didn't try to track down the video until weeks later.

"I just feel that the comprehensive video canvass for instance just seems like a natural and normal thing at this day in age," Rominger said.

Abc27 spoke to the Lebanon County District Attorney Dave Arnold about the case. He could not talk specifics, but assured us police are still doing everything possible.

Arnold said they are working on the case and are "hopeful for a resolution."

He told harsh critics that they just don't know the in's and out's of the investigation.

Authorities have been relatively tight-lipped since Kortne's disappearance.

Though critical, Scott Stouffer believes authorities are still hard at work trying to locate his daughter.

"They are not quitting. I guess the worst thing would be if it got pushed off to the side, but there's a lot of determined people," Stouffer said.

The family of Kortne Stouffer is offering a $34,000 reward for information leading to her being found. Information can be left with the Palmyra police by calling 717-838-8189 or by emailing Kortneinfo@gmail.com.
