The mother of a teenage girl who has been missing since Saturday night has plead
ed for help to find her daughter, fearing she may have gone somewhere with a man she met on the internet.

Michelle Darcey said her 15-year-old daughter Brooke Skybinsky had left her mobile phone at home, had not contacted any family or friends, had not touched her social media accounts and had no money.

She last saw her daughter when she went to bed at their Armadale home on Saturday night after a fun night with family friends.

"She was gone by the morning," she said. Ms Darcey said her daughter had never run away before and she had no indication anything was wrong.

She had since been told by some of her daughter's friends that they thought her daughter might have been picked up that night by a man called Rodney who she met on Facebook.

She said she hoped that was not true.

"I'm trying hard not to listen to those stories, police are investigating everything," she said. "We've never heard of a Rodney - Brooke is not a silly girl, she knows not to do that."

She said her daughter had a 17-year-old boyfriend but police told her the 15-year-old was not at his house.

Ms Darcey said she was unsure what clothes her daughter was wearing but knew she had her iPod with her.

"Anything would help at this point; we've exhausted all our avenues for trying to find her," Ms Darcey said. "I'm at a loss and her best friend is worried about her as well."

She does not believe her daughter ran away because the family's elderly dog has to be put down and her daughter had wanted to be with him at the vet.

She urged anyone with information to call her or police and pleaded with her daughter to call if she was safe.
"I'm very worried, I miss her and I just want her to come home," she said.

BAY VILLAGE - Author James Renner, who wrote a 2006 book about the murder of Amy Mihaljevic, is raising money to produce a feature film based on the search for her killer.

BAY VILLAGE - Author James Renner, who wrote a 2006 book about the murder of Amy Mihaljevic, is raising money to produce a feature film based on the search for her killer.
Renner recently launched his fundraising effort and hopes to raise at least $35,000.
Amy Mihaljevic, 10, was abducted Oct. 27, 1989 from a shopping center on Wolf Road in Bay Village. Her body was found in February 1990 in a field in rural Ashland County. No one has been charged with her murder.
Renner’s 2006 book, “Amy: My Search for Her Killer,” looked at the case, including clues and suspects.
Working in the film industry before becoming a journalist, Renner now wants to turn Amy’s story into a feature-length film in an effort to spread the word about the case and uncover new clues. He wants to begin filming in February using a local crew.
“My goal is to make the best film possible and, hopefully, get it into national theaters,” he said.
The film will explore the search by local police and the FBI for Amy’s killer. However, Renner said he would not name suspects in the film or try to sway audience opinion.
“It’s just that the search for her killer is so bizarre because you come across the strangest characters,” he said.
Renner said he was surprised to learn how many men were close to Amy.
“There are at least 25 men who had the means, motive and opportunity to commit this crime,” he said. “I don’t know of any other case like this where you have so many suspects.”
He said he hopes his film could help bring the killer to justice.
“Somebody out there has that piece that everybody is missing and they’re not aware of how important that little bit of information is,” he said. “The more widespread we make Amy’s story, the better the chance we will find that person with that last little clue that will crack the case.”
His previous work in film included adapting a Stephen King story starring Harvey Pekar and Michael Stanley, which premiered at the 2005 Montreal Film Festival.
Renner is raising money for his new project at indiegogo.com/amy-movie.
Donations can be made through PayPal or by credit card for amounts of as little as $10. Each donation will earn a special thanks in the film credits. Larger gifts include perks such as tickets to the premiere and film photo albums.
If not enough money is raised, contributions will be refunded, Renner said, adding that he has agreed not to pay himself a director’s fee for working on the movie. Instead, he said, contributions will go toward production expenses.

Cape Town - A massive search is under way for a five-year-old girl from Mitchells Plain who has been missing since Friday.
Kauther Bobbs, pictured, was last seen playing with two friends at a park near her home in Freedom Park in Tafelsig.
Police, including dog units, neighbourhood watch members, the NGO Pink Ladies and community members have been searching for Kauther since she disappeared.
On Friday night Kauther’s mother and grandmother, Lameez and Nazley Bobbs walked the streets of Mitchells Plain with a torch. Friends described it as an effort of “amazing bravery”, adding that, “you don’t walk these streets at night; innocent people get killed by gangsters”.
Since Friday there have been several reports of sightings of Kauther, but all have been dead ends.
“There have been so many rumours flying around. Now she’s been spotted here, now there. But all these leads have come to dead ends; it’s been very frustrating and emotional,” said her aunt, Zainonesa Bobbs.
At the time of her disappearance Kauther was wearing a pink top with a Tinker Bell print, blue pyjama pants and dark blue Crocs.
“It is very unusual for her to venture away from home. She is five years old, and getting more confident. But she is very obedient and she knew she wasn’t allowed to go to the park by herself,” said her aunt, Zainonesa Bobbs.
Kauther had apparently told a neighbourhood boy that she had permission to be in the park without supervision.
Dessie Rechner, of the NGO Pink Ladies, which is assisting police in the search, said the rumour that Kauther’s body had been found today was “malicious” and “untrue”.
“Extensive ground searches have been done and dog units were involved, along with the neighbourhood watch. The community needs to be thanked for [its] efforts to try to find her,” Rechner said.
The Bobbs household was abuzz with people coming and going this morning, as family and friends discussed the search.
Kauther’s mother said police had treated her as a suspect in the disappearance. She said she was questioned by police for most of Saturday.
“I’m very upset because they treated me like dirt and prevented me from searching… I am a mother looking for my missing child and all they can do is accuse… Meanwhile, they aren’t searching properly… they aren’t questioning the community.”

For Jessica Ridgeway, age 10 ABDUCTED on her way to school, who's body was identified...may she rest in peace....

If roses grow in heaven

If roses grow in heaven,
Lord please pick a bunch for me,
Place them in my Jessica's arms
and tell her they're from mom, family
& myself

Tell her I love her and miss her,
and when she turns to smile,
place a kiss upon her cheek
and hold her for awhile.

Because remembering her is easy,
her family will everyday...
I will every day,
but there's an ache within my heart
that will never go away.http://www.youtube.com/watch?
