e of Ivy Dawn Merck (24) missing since Thursday, 8/23/2012. She was listed as missing after her father, Steven Merck, told police in Athens that his daughter never arrived home in Kingsland last Thursday.
Ivy Merck's name and a description of her car, a dark green 2008 Honda CRV, were entered into law enforcement's statewide computer system this week. Her license place number is AYZ-5912.
According to the missing persons report filed with the Athens-Clarke County Police Department, Merck told her roommate and boss at the Good Hands Vet Clinic, where she worked as a vet tech, on Tuesday, Aug. 21, that she was leaving Athens to drive home to Kingsland.
On Aug. 23, the Good Hands clinic received a text from Merck and a request for copies of her dog's medical records from the clinic where Merck boarded the dog until Thursday, Aug. 30.
Capt. Clarence Holman, director of the ACPD criminal investigations division, said Merck's cell phone has since pinged off a tower in Boca Raton, Fla., though Camden County Sheriff's Office detectives are still investigating the case.
Merck is listed as 5 feet, 1 inch tall and 115 pounds with brown eyes and dark blonde to brown hair. Those with information about her whereabouts are asked to call the sheriff's office at (912) 510-5100.

8/30/2012: Oklahoma: Jaymie Adams Murder Case Update: Blanchard mother Jaymie A
dams (right) was stabbed 18 times in the back and her jaw was broken in three places during the assault that ended her life, an autopsy released Tuesday shows.
Adams, who was 25 and about eight weeks pregnant at the time of her death, was found Jan. 7 by motorcyclists near Lake Stanley Draper.
The woman’s autopsy report shows she was killed by multiple stab wounds. Her death was ruled a homicide.
Justin Adams (left), her husband, has been charged with her murder but was recently released from jail. He also has been charged in the murder of the unborn child.
The state medical examiner waited more than seven months to release the autopsy on Adams, a mother of four.
Found naked except for a winter coat, Adams was stabbed at least 29 times, including four times in the head.
HEAD INJURIES FACTOR
The doctor performing the autopsy noted that head injuries contributed to Adams’ death and that her jaw was shattered into three pieces.
The woman also had cuts to her hands and stab wounds to her neck and torso.
Adams was reported missing by her husband Dec. 9, but he quickly became a suspect in the woman’s disappearance.
Justin Adams was arrested in January and charged with two counts of murder. He was released on $100,000 bail.
According to court documents, prosecutors asked for more time to prepare for Justin Adams’ preliminary hearing.
Irven Box, an attorney representing Justin Adams, said he has reason to believe that investigators are looking elsewhere at a suspect.
At least one other man has been questioned during Adams’ murder investigation, but police never arrested the man.
“I believe there’s someone else out there that has committed this crime,” Box said the day before his client was released.
UNUSUAL CASE
The disappearance of Adams and the subsequent arrest of her husband for her murder generated intense public interest and revealed some bizarre aspects of the couple’s life together.
According to court documents, both Adams and her husband used the website Craigslist to solicit sexual partners.
Police said Adams was working as a prostitute at the time of her death and often used Craigslist to attract clients.
Justin Adams also admitted to police that he used the website to solicit men for sex and that he and his wife were “swingers.”

“I just don't know what Belton thinks that they're doing,” Rhonda said. “It's all lies and this is the first time we've seen the report. Why are we just now seeing this?”
Belton Police Chief James Person declined our requests for an interview, but issued a statement standing by the report.
“There is no discrepancy in our police reports,” Person wrote. “They are dated and time stamped, and have not changed since the original report was written 4 1/2 years ago.”
The Belton report also said police contacted the family by phone, but the family said that never happened.
Rhonda emphasized that the family saw Kara the morning of May 4, 2007 and would have had no reason to say she’d already been missing for two days.
Kara’s mother was shocked to learn that Belton Police records put her daughter’s initial disappearance on May 2, 2007—two days earlier than she was publically reported missing

Missing Brian Shaffer..
Numerous searches have been conducted including the construction area by the Ugly Tuna Saloona, numerous locations close to his disappearance including help from Texas Equusearch and numerous search agencies in the Ohio area but to no avail. At one point, the police were looking for an individual seen on the escalator (the man with the orange sweater) - this has been ruled out and not considered linked to Brian's case.
Conversations have been had with the 2 girls who were outside the bar speaking with Brian but they were not able to provide any additional information to help locate Brian. It truly feels as if he just disappeared but we all know, Brian is SOMEWHERE and needs to be located.

arents, Sabrina and David Kimbley (right), have been ▬►NAMED SUSPECTS in his death. The Kimbley's other three children are in the custody of Child Protective Services tonight.
UPDATE: SMITH COUNTY (KYTX) - We talked with Smith County Justice of the Peace Mitch Shamburger, who gave us the basics on the inquest and the body being found in the septic tank.
We have also talked with a woman who was there for the entire search effort, including her description of the conditions of the home and that Jake's parents were laughing and smiling and didn't help with the search. The other kids in the home were taken by Child Protective Services on Tuesday and remain in CPS custody.
We are also told that an eight-year-old told law enforcement that he watched his dad "kick Jake into a hole." There are reports that a professional septic company came to the scene to open the septic tank before authorities could check for the body.
The parents were questioned by the FBI Tuesday night, and Jake's grandfather was arrested today for being a registered sex offender near kids.
The Tyler Morning Telegraph is reporting on the homicide investigation along with KYTX CBS 19 reporter Field Sutton.
An earlier version of this story attributed certain facts to Sheriff-Elect Larry Smith. Those facts did not come from Smith, and we regret the error.
UPDATE: SMITH COUNTY (TYLER MORNING TELEGRAPH) - A source close to the investigation of the death of a 2-year-old near Winona told the Tyler Paper this morning that the case is being investigated as a possible homicide.
Jake Kimbley, 2, was found dead on his family's property in a septic tank partially exposed above ground.
Multiple agencies, including fire departments, the sheriff's office and air support searched Tuesday afternoon for the toddler who went missing while playing hide-and-seek near Farm-to-Market Road 16 and U.S. Highway 271, according to dispatchers.
The Sheriff's Office is in charge of the investigation, officials said.
SMITH COUNTY (KYTX) - The Smith County Sheriff's Department confirmed Wednesday morning that a crime scene investigation team was going over the land surrounding a home in the 20300 block of FM 16 near Winona.
Multiple sources have confirmed to CBS 19 that 2-year-old Jake Kimbley was found dead some time after 1:00 Wednesday morning inside a septic tank on the property. The Sheriff's department would not comment on the location of the body.
Sheriff's deputies were interviewing the other children Kimbley was playing with Tuesday afternoon, trying to put together details of his last moments alive.
A hearse took Kimbley's body to a local funeral home around 11:30 Wednesday morning. The Sheriff's department confirmed it would undergo an autopsy.

Judy Rollins Hoschar 8/22/2012: Illinois: Peru police have opened a missing person investigation after Peru resident Kristin Hoff (17/left) ran away from home with Nathan Marco (30/right). Peru police chief Doug Bernabei said a family member reported Hoff missing Tuesday morning, 8/21/2012.
The last time she had contact with a family member was via text message to her father in Florida at 12:30 a.m. Monday notifying him after a conversation that she was going to bed. Hoff was reported missing about 10 hours later.
Bernabei said the department has some leads and have assigned a detective to the case.
“We don’t think she’s in danger and we believe she is a willing runaway,” Bernabei said. “At this time, we can’t determine if there is any criminal action until we have all the facts.”
Hoff’s mother, Tricia Glasper, said she believes Hoff had run away with Nathan Marco, who has several registered addresses throughout La Salle and Bureau counties. According to La Salle County Circuit Court records, Marco has only ever been charged with traffic penalties.
Glasper said Hoff and Marco met each other about a week ago. Family and friends has advised Hoff to stay away from Marco after his acquaintances accused him of violent, abusive and manipulative behavior.
But Hoff refused and a family argument ensued last weekend. Hoff told local family members she was going to move to Florida with her father, but she went to school on Monday and a movie with friends later that night before coming home at 11:30 p.m.
Glasper said Hoff left a note indicating “she was leaving to fix herself” and that she would call to let family members know she is OK.
Glasper said Wednesday that she has still not heard from her daughter.
“We’re worried about something happening to her,” she said. “I love her and want her to come home safely. I never thought I’d be in a position to feel this helpless.”
If you have information to locate Kristen please call the Peru Police Department at (815) 223-2151 or 911 if you think you see her and the suspect.
