PHOENIX (CBS5) - State police will ask for an Amber Alert to be issued after a b
izarre missing child case has surfaced in Phoenix.

Officer James Holmes of the Phoenix Police Department told CBS 5 News that early Thursday morning a father checked into the Motel 6 at Interstate 17 and Indian School Road with his two boys- ages 3 and 5 - and two women he had just met.

After several hours of apparent partying, the father fell asleep for a few hours. Upon awakening, he told police the women were gone - with his car, his cell phone, his wallet and his youngest son. He said he has custody of both sons.

"The only one with a clear memory of what happened," said Holmes, "is the 5-year-old."

The missing boy, Stephon San Miguel, was last seen wearing a long-sleeved blue and green shirt.

The women are described as being in their mid-30's, Hispanic, between 5-foot-six and five-foot-nine with medium build. They may have told the boys they were going to the circus. It is not clear why they allegedly took one child and left the other.

They may be driving the father's truck, described as a black 2005 Chevrolet Avalanche with 22-inch chrome rims.
