F SANGER, CA TEEN SAMMY MERCADO: Article: A second suspect has been arrested in connection with the homicide of 16-year-old Sammy Mercado, believed to have been murdered in April of 2012 when he and two friends tried to steal marijuana from a southeast Fresno field. Michael Voravong, 29, (not pictured) of Fresno was arrested Sunday afternoon at his home in the 4000 block of East White Avenue, a Fresno County sheriff's spokesman said. Meanwhile, Ernie Chanmany, 22, of Fresno, who authorities have identified as a suspect in the case, is now in Fresno County Jail on accessory to murder and other charges.
A murder warrant for Chanmany was issued in mid-May. He was arrested Oct. 6 during a drug bust in Utah, a Sevier County sheriff's spokesman said Thursday.

On Saturday, 10/20/2012, a body believed to Mercado's was found in a shallow grave east of Fresno. About two weeks earlier, the Sheriff's Office received a tip that Mercado's body was buried near Butler and Thompson avenues.
Mercado, a Sanger resident, had been missing since April 12, when authorities say he and two friends attempted to steal marijuana from a field near Annadale and Willow avenues.
Mercado was left behind when the two friends fled in their vehicle after shots were fired at them. When they returned, they found blood, but Mercado was gone.
Marshall Voravong is described as Asian and 5 feet, 5 inches tall and weighing 120 pounds. He has black hair and brown eyes. His last known address also is in the 4000 block of East White Avenue.
Marshall Voravong should be considered armed and dangerous.
