Missing From Palmyra, Pennsylvania Since July 29, 2012 Please Help Find Kortne Stouffer $34,000 Reward

About once a week, Scott Stouffer gets a call. On the other end of the receiver is someone filling him in on the latest rumor regarding his 21-year-old daughter, Kortne. Those rumors, however, have been wearing on him and his family.

"(We're) no closer to having our daughter back," Stouffer sa
id.

All the while an investigation has been ongoing. There has been a search involving local and state officials, who have also pulled in FBI resources.

So where are investigators with the case now? Stouffer said they're back to square one.

Admittedly, going back to the beginning is a standard tactic in law enforcement. It's something that has Stouffer hopeful.

"Maybe going back and going through the whole investigation again will bring back a piece of information that can help authorities get to her," Stouffer said.

But still, her father can't help but be critical of the investigation. Stouffer wishes authorities acted faster, nearly three months ago.

Kortne Stouffer was last seen at her Palmyra apartment July 29, after going out with friends in Harrisburg.

"No disrespect to any of the authorities, I don't believe everything that should have been done initially was done as quickly as it should have been done," Stouffer said.

Stouffer's other criticism surrounds surveillance tapes. He and the family's attorney, Karl Rominger, were told an auto business near Kortne's apartment could have caught something critical on camera. However, the video from the night of her disappearance was recorded over. That's because, Stouffer said, authorities didn't try to track down the video until weeks later.

"I just feel that the comprehensive video canvass for instance just seems like a natural and normal thing at this day in age," Rominger said.

Abc27 spoke to the Lebanon County District Attorney Dave Arnold about the case. He could not talk specifics, but assured us police are still doing everything possible.

Arnold said they are working on the case and are "hopeful for a resolution."

He told harsh critics that they just don't know the in's and out's of the investigation.

Authorities have been relatively tight-lipped since Kortne's disappearance.

Though critical, Scott Stouffer believes authorities are still hard at work trying to locate his daughter.

"They are not quitting. I guess the worst thing would be if it got pushed off to the side, but there's a lot of determined people," Stouffer said.

The family of Kortne Stouffer is offering a $34,000 reward for information leading to her being found. Information can be left with the Palmyra police by calling 717-838-8189 or by emailing Kortneinfo@gmail.com.

BELLEVUE, NEBRASKA: @[436903186373626:274:Missing Brittany Goings]

Brittany A. Goings, age 16, was last seen 10/30/2012 at about 6:25 a.m. when her father dropped her at school. Shortly after, she was seen on the school video surveillance entering a dark colored van or SUV which was parked in front of the school.

Her family has heard from Brittany once, telling them to leave her alone, but her father says even that call seemed odd. "It was almost like a recording how she said it," said Ricky Goings. "She said 'I'm alive, I'm okay' and I said Brittany why don't you come home? She said goodbye and hung up."

Her parents concern is that while she is a smart girl, she is innocent and somewhat gullible. Her family is extremely worried and fearful that she may be under the influence of an adult male and they’ve reason to believe this male may be falsely promising to give her a break into the music industry.

The first night she was missing, Ricky watched this scene play out on his television screen and heard about a 16-year-old girl murdered at 36th and Redick. "I thought it was my daughter. I was about to lose it, but it was some other girl, you know. I was shocked."

The 16-year-old girl murdered that night was Eriana Carr. Goings' heart goes out to the Carr family, but he is still driven by the hope of getting his daughter back.

Goings says his daughter is smart and headstrong, a typical teenager, but she doesn't have the years of experience needed to make all of the right decisions and to stay safe. "You had better tell that dude, whoever he is, to let you go because you need to come back home or else I'm going to come get you."

Goings says originally he thought his daughter may have headed back to Philadelphia to live with her mother, but now he is certain she still is in the area and is hiding out with the man believed to have picked her up from school.

Brittany does not have a history of running away from home.

She is 5’2” tall, weighs about 120 pounds, with brown hair and brown eyes. She has a dimple in chin, spacing between front teeth, numerous scars, marks and tattoos.

Anyone with any information on her whereabouts contact the Bellevue Police Department at (402) 293-3100 or the Nebraska Missing Persons Information Clearinghouse at (402) 479-4986 in the Lincoln Metro Area or toll free 1-877-441-LOST outside the Lincoln Metro Area.
