James Chapman(JC) has been missing for 4 days now he was last seen at huntington high school at 10:45 am if anyone has seen or has information on where he is please call the WVSP ,911 or 304-522-0550.

Jennifer Hughes michael grass, he didnt show any sign that he was even upset when he disappeared! so please keep negative comments to yourself. this was posted so that people can help locate jc and get him home. you obviously do not know jc! he isnt a "partier".... so taking off to party is something he didnt do! to everyone else, thanks for the prayers and concerns my family greatly appreciates it. please continue with them and keepin your eyes open for him!

Racheal Beter I understand why ppl may assume hes just a kid trying to get away and party- we all have done stupid crap when we were younger. Truth is, no one can be sure. Thats why its so scary. Angela Elswick I did an internet search and I can't find anything about this kid. Either this is a terrible hoax or the media REALLY dropped the ball on this story! If the first is true, shame on the people creating the hoax! There are far too many families searching for missing loved ones to have someone create a hoax that is in such poor taste!! If the latter is true, shame on the media for NOT reporting on a story of such great importance!! If a child is missing, the media outlets should come together to do EVERYTHING in their power to help get the story out there and make the public aware.

Nikki Chapman I am JC's aunt and I can say this is NOT A HOAX!!!!!!! He has been missing since Wednesday. As for the media, yes they were contacted but seems they pick and choose who/what story they would like the public to see. The State Police consider him a runaway therefore no Amber Alert, that is why I contacted Jailed Tristate to see if they could help in anyway and they have went above and beyond the family" expectations, So please keep a eye out for him and if you see him call 911 or 304-522-0550. WE JUST WANT HIM HOME.

Stacy Chapman a couple of my friends ran away for weeks at a time when they were 15 or 16, and they were good at it b/c kids are resourceful. they often be staying with friends or friends of friends, with none of the kids' parents knowing they were harboring a runaway. they would sneak in at night and are gone by morning, or they come hang when parents at work, then go to anothers house the next day. No one will believe their kid is a liar, but trust me when I say these kids will lie to hide their friend.
state police and news can't do anything to search for runaway, b/c it's so hard to investigate when all who know these kids will lie for them to "protect" them. all who want to help by praying (useless) should instead go out and check local hangouts, homeless shelter, i lived downtown for 10 years, and some kids in hgtn went to hang at riverfront or ritter park to sleep at night, and by day pullman square or 9th street plaza to panhandle. sometimes they sleep on street on 4th ave., or hang at MU b/c you can panhandle, then go buy some food... and check with 24hr/late night places like jolly pirate, gas stations and taco bell, and such...

Angela Elswick Nikki, forgive me for the post! When I did the internet search and didn't find anything in our local media, I was afraid it was a hoax. Have you tried contacting the TOM ROTEN show on1600 am radio? He is local and VERY fair!! He takes phone calls LIVE everyday from 6 am to 9 am. I believe he has a FACEBOOK page as well. What is the school saying about his disappearance? Do they think he walked off campus or left with someone? I am so sorry that your family is going through this. As a mother myself, I can only imagine how frightened you all must be. I pray that JC comes home to your family safe and sound.Please keep posting and let us now if you hear anything.

Jennifer Hughes yes this most def is not a hoax! jc is my nephew as well. and we do want him home. i, as long as other family and friends have been searching for him everyday. i have been to huntington high. if you look around i have been hanging pictures up places to get his face out there. one can only send so many emails to wsaz. we have posted on our walls and asked for friends to do the same thing to get jc's info out there. i have been all around huntington. i have been down at pullman asking every person i can if they have seen jc. if u look at unos they have the missing sign hanging on there front door. krogers has a sign. the gas station across from marcum terrace has a sign. little ceasars has a sign. im workin on gettin more signs to hang up places. so please listen to when we say this is REAL and we need all the help we can get!!!

Stacy Chapman Jennifer, I'm Nikki's sister, and I have friends in the WVSP. The WVSP can't discuss any details of a potential case with ANY member of the public who is not this boy's parent/guardian, and the WVSP will thell them so. Recommending people call the WVSP just wastes the time of the dispatchers, distracting them from assisting officers in the field, just to tell people calling they can't discuss a case. I'm sorry ya'll going through this, I wish I could help too, but I live 150 mi away. I've given all the insight and help I can in my earlier post.

Aleisha Spears It is horrible that the media picks and chooses but very true...and how do the State Police know he is a run-away? Wouldn't it be safer to assume he isn't and issue the Amber Alert anyways? Nothing would be hurt by it and it could possibly bring him home to his family....I say issue the AMBER ALERT!!
