Phoenix Coldon has been missing since Dec. 18. She was last seen in the driveway of the family's St. Louis County home at about 3 p.m. Roughly three hours later, Coldon's black 1998 Chevy Blazer was impounded by police after it was discovered about a 25-minute drive from her home, at Ninth Street and St. Clair Avenue in East St. Louis. The keys were in the ignition with the motor running and the driver's door open.

Coldon's vehicle was towed by the East St. Louis Police Department and entered into the agency's computer system as an abandoned vehicle. Her family did not discover it was in police custody until Jan. 1. It remains unclear why the family was not notified, and authorities have not returned multiple calls for comment from HuffPost.
Goldia Coldon said detectives told her they have no clues or leads to follow.
"The police are not actively looking for Phoenix," Coldon said. "They let me know when they find a body or something. They let me know it's not Phoenix, but other than that we don't really hear from them."

This is my sister Carol, of course you all know that, but did you know all throu
gh-out her life the path she is pointing to in this picture with those words on it is how she lives every single day to day. Loving her family, spreading laughter, joy, smiles, love, hope, faith, devotion. See often times when people go all those years just living being the people that they are, they never really stop to think, because to them too actually stop and think would take time away from all those great things that they love so very very much, which for Carol at the end of every day was Family & Friends, and that's just what made Carol who she really was to all who knew her well. As I continue to fight for getting my sister found I am asking all of you to think back on your history with my sister Carol and remember those times and look at this picture and see the path she took every single day, that is what keeps me going on, loving unconditionally, helping, inspiring, and last but not least spreading hope & smiles to all who have come to know who my sister is. Thank you everyone for taking the time to share this page, our pictures, our goal, our story, this is our life, this is our new passion, not just showing the world we will not stop, but reassuring the world we will not stop, because guess what, we will do nothing of the sort. Thank you everyone for all that you have done and can do to help us spread the word about my sister Carol. We want her home & we hope & pray everyone enjoys this heart-felt journey to watch us accomplish our master goal at hand, so thank you everyone for ALL that you do, it's more than just a blessing, it's pure love, and for that you will always & forever have my heart, Judy C.

HAWTHORNE, NJ (PIX11)— Several suburbs in Northern New Jersey continue to be onedge as police from four towns search for a predator or predators attempting to snatch children from soccer fields, front lawns, and local streets. Four attempts have been made in two weeks. One Boy and three girls have all managed to thwart their attackers, who tried luring them into a Jeep Wrangler or grey car, by running, some screaming, to get away from the perv. Police chiefs say they've sent detectives to talk to known sex offenders as well as other individuals they say have been suspects in prior "suspicious" activities. But despite some very good descriptions from children resulting in sketches, there have been no arrests. Both the FBI and Bergen County Prosecutor's Office now pledging assistance.

edge as police from four towns search for a predator or predators attempting to snatch children from soccer fields, front lawns, and local streets.
The most brazen attack by far happened this past Saturday afternoon at a soccer field in Hawthorne, NJ with some 200 people in attendance.
A 13 year old girl was nearly nabbed, with both of her parents nearby. The attacker waited until she was away from her group of friends, then the man grabbed her by the arm and just started shoving her towards a wooded area saying "come on let's go." But she wasn't going quietly. She fought. Screamed and yelled and wrenched free, running back to her parents.
Chief Dave Pegg of the Maywood Police Department said of all the calls they get regarding stranger danger, "We take them very seriously."
Ten days ago a young girl, just eight years old, was playing on her front lawn. A man approached, according to the Chief, and asked if she wanted to see some puppies.
"She had just gone through the stranger danger program at school, and what she did was text book perfect," said the Chief. She ran into the house and told her older sister. When the pair came out, the man had fled in his car. But not before the precocious eight year old with an excellent memory for detail provided good sketch material to detectives. It's now being distributed by cops looking to catch a creep.
A recent study of nearly 7,000 attempted abductions by the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children found these are all too typical methods to abduct children, most of whom are usually girls 10 - 14 who get abducted.
Their findings:
35% of all abductions happen to or from school or a school related activity Many children are lured by a promise of a ride, candy, money, or showing an animal 81% of targeted kids escaped by running or walking, yelling, kicking, or pulled away or attracted attention
Anna, a mom picking up her child at a Hawthorne Elementary school says she's very direct with her children. "Always be together, I tell my girls all the time to stay together. Don't go anywhere alone, nowhere."
