Upper Merion Find Saavni Venna Pennsylvania Amber Alert
A woman is dead and her infant granddaughter missing after a homicide and abduction at an Upper Merion apartment, according to police.
Pennsylvania State Police issued an amber child abduction alert for the Upper Merion Township Police Department on Monday.
Police say Saavni Venna, a 10-month-old baby, was abducted from the Marquis Apartment complex on the 200 block of West Dekalb Pike in King of Prussia some time between 8 a.m. and 1 p.m. on Monday.
Investigators issued an amber alert just before 5 p.m. after they say a relative arrived at the apartment earlier in the afternoon and found the dead body of the baby's grandmother, 61-year-old Satyavathi Venna, and then realized the child was missing. Friends of the family tell NBC10 it was the baby's father, Shiva Venna, who called police.
Police described Venna as an Asian-Indian female, standing 2-foot-6 and weighing 21 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes. She was last seen wearing a white dress with pink flowers and wearing unknown jewelry.
"Please don't do any harm to the kid," said Vasu Velaga, a neighbor of the family. "Please release her immediately. Please inform the police."
Shiva Venna spoke Monday night during a press conference.
"If someone finds my baby could you please bring my baby back?" Venna pleaded. "Don't do any harm to my baby."
If you have any information on the abduction, please call 911.

F SANGER, CA TEEN SAMMY MERCADO: Article: A second suspect has been arrested in connection with the homicide of 16-year-old Sammy Mercado, believed to have been murdered in April of 2012 when he and two friends tried to steal marijuana from a southeast Fresno field. Michael Voravong, 29, (not pictured) of Fresno was arrested Sunday afternoon at his home in the 4000 block of East White Avenue, a Fresno County sheriff's spokesman said. Voravong faces a murder charge. (Click on the source link to see his photo.) ▬►Detectives are looking for a third suspect, ▬►Marshall Voravong, 28, the brother of Michael Voravong.
Meanwhile, Ernie Chanmany, 22, of Fresno, who authorities have identified as a suspect in the case, is now in Fresno County Jail on accessory to murder and other charges.
A murder warrant for Chanmany was issued in mid-May. He was arrested Oct. 6 during a drug bust in Utah, a Sevier County sheriff's spokesman said Thursday.
Michael Voravong, 29, left, has been arrested in the slaying of Sanger teenager Sammy Mercado and Voravong's brother, Marshall, 28, is being sought in the case.
On Saturday, 10/20/2012, a body believed to Mercado's was found in a shallow grave east of Fresno. About two weeks earlier, the Sheriff's Office received a tip that Mercado's body was buried near Butler and Thompson avenues.
Mercado, a Sanger resident, had been missing since April 12, when authorities say he and two friends attempted to steal marijuana from a field near Annadale and Willow avenues.
Mercado was left behind when the two friends fled in their vehicle after shots were fired at them. When they returned, they found blood, but Mercado was gone.
Marshall Voravong is described as Asian and 5 feet, 5 inches tall and weighing 120 pounds. He has black hair and brown eyes. His last known address also is in the 4000 block of East White Avenue.
Marshall Voravong should be considered armed and dangerous.
Anyone with information about Marshall Voravong's location or this case can call the Sheriff's Office at (559) 488-3111, or Crime Stoppers (559) at 498-7867.
