Sisters of slain 9-year-old are in protective custody

The two younger sisters of slain 9-year-old Aliahna Lemmon have been removed from parental custody by the Indiana Department of Child Services, said Allen County DCS director Michelle L. Savieo on Friday afternoon.
As is the norm in such procedures, no other details about the removal were made available, including the reasons for the action and how long it will be in effect.
Aliahna's remains were discovered Monday evening after her baby sitter, Michael L. Plumadore, 39, allegedly confessed to killing, then dismembering her, over a period of hours late last week.
Plumadore was also caring for Aliahna's two younger sisters, who have not been identified. There have been no reports about what those girls may have seen, heard or told investigators about their time under Plumadore's supervision.
Plumadore was charged today with murder and two Class D felonies – abuse of a corpse and moving a body from the scene of a suspicious or violent death. He will likely appear in Allen Superior Court on Wednesday.
